Knowledge due to insight (Buddhism)
Description
This may arise like a flash of lightning while in the process of estimating and judging material and immaterial states. The meditator, thinking that such knowledge has never arisen before, believes he has reached fruition, interrupts the course of insight. This is karmically unprofitable, because he mistakes the path.
Context
One of the ten imperfections of insight of Hinayana Buddhism.
