Intersubjectivity
Description
The self is only truly itself when it relates to other selves. Intersubjectivity is an expression of the experience of extending one's selfhood to another and thus experiencing a shared field of integrity. Subjective experience becomes intersubjectivity when several individuals experience and report the same thing. Such an association of subjectivities is necessary, according to one view, for an objective world to exist.
