Insanu'l-kamil (Sufism)

The name of a traveller on the tariqa or Sufi spiritual path at the level of realizing identity with the essence of God - the perfect man. Although living in the world he does not belong to the world, he has come to serve humanity, guiding others on the tariqa or path, as Shaykh, Pir, spiritual master, whether as Sufi or Prophet.

Spiritual progress on the spiritual path is marked by the attainment of specific maqamat or station.
