Ida conscious energy (Yoga)
Description
Ida is the name for the energy channel on the left side of shushumna in tantra and kundalini-yoga. Physiological correspondence lies in the parasympathetic nervous system. Psychological correspondence is the power of dissolution, symbolized by moon (night). Ida, pingala and shushumna are the three most important nadis or subtle energy channels through which prana or life-force flows. They interconnect and merge with each other in the chakras or centers of consciousness. In Indian and Buddhist approaches to consciousness they play an important role both in theory and practice.
