Holistic approach to human development
Description
Rather than seeing society as a structure in which some parts are causal and the rest simply effects of those causes, the holistic approach considers society as an interdependent network of relations in which every individual has a role to play. Such an approach rejects the idea that society is merely an aggregation of individuals and also the idea that the individual exists only as a reflection of the society he or she lives in. These are both seen as incompatible with a human-centred view.
