Heaven

Heaven normally refers to a mode of existence after this life, achieved by virtue or grace, which some believe permanent while others consider a temporary respite after which the individual is again born into earthly life. Some traditions believe it also the dwelling place of gods or of angels, or of God, while others that union with God is beyond heaven. The term "heaven" is also used to describe a mode in this life where there is total harmony with God and with one's place in creation, or which results from activities, beliefs and attitudes developed during this or previous lives.
