Final-training subtle contemplation (Buddhism)
- Prayoganishthamanaskara
- Sbyor-mthai-yid-byed (Tibetan)
Description
The state leads, after developing into 9 "uninterrupted paths" and 9 "paths of release", to the first and to the successive concentrations. The series of seven subtle contemplations viewed as preparations for achieving each of the concentrations has mainly a function of detaching the mind from its identification with a particular state. The ninth path of release of the seventh preparation in the Desire Realm is the same as the first concentration in the Form Realm.
Context
This is the seventh and last of the preparations in Tibetan Gelugpa Buddhism.
