Fatigued conscious awareness

  • Loss of attention
  • Boredom
  • Monotony

Description

Awareness can be fatigued due to physiological or to psychological causes. Physiological causes include inadequate or disturbed sleep, nutritional deficiency, physical exhaustion, and various dysfunctionings due to pathological reasons. Psychological causes for fatigued mental states are: too heavy a demand on the attention, e.g. prolonged, intellectual analytical work; and too little demand on the attention, e.g. boredom or monotony resulting from routine. This fatigued state is a contraction of the field of cognition. Inconstant attention reduces sense stimuli, and apprehended stimuli are partly blocked by the fatigue condition from reaching the conscious comprehension stage. This state is responsible for fatal accidents, faulty product manufacturing, and insufficient dialogue in adversarial proceedings, to name only a few of the evils that results from the loss of attention.
