Embodied consciousness
Description
An individual's awareness of the surroundings is always with reference to the body and its sense organs. The differentiation of the person as phenomenologically open to the world through the body, but not at one with it, is a sophisticated, later development in mankind's development. Only when aware of this [embodied consciousness]
can the personality distinguish either the world or itself.
