Divine nothingness (ICA)

Description

This is experienced as having nothing, and of being called to create life out of it; when one realizes that there is nothing but significance. It may be compared to the role of the tramp so often played by Charlie Chaplin, who over and over again picks up his impossible situation and recreates his life in the midst of it.

Context

In the ICA New Religious Mode in the arena of knowing one's disengagement (the life of poverty) the first formal aspect is the experience of being liberated from the claim of one's possessions. At the third phenomenological level, this occurs when one is able to so value the gift of life that nothing else is needed for one's fulfilment.
