Desirelessness (Hinduism) [1]

  • Nirasih

Description

The person is devoid of desire for the non-eternal enjoyments which constitute bondage and are the cause of transmigration and the absence of freedom. The desire for fruits of action are renounced as one knows that one is impelled by God to perform them. All actions may thus be regarded as worship of God. Some say that absence of desire must include absence of desire for liberation.
