The thoughtless acceptance of one's self as body and mind.

Context

The first fetter or character defect referred to by Buddha. The first five fetters are marked by automatic response due to the following of old, unphilosophical mental habits. When these are overcome, the disciples is ready (arhat) to face the final five.
