Deep state of hypnosis

  • Somnambulistic hypnosis

Description

The body becomes limp and consciousness is suspended, although the subconscious functions and is open to suggestion by the therapist; at the instigation of the therapist the individual will answer questions and describe the experience. Upon reverting to normal consciousness there is no memory of what has passed or even of how long the state lasted. Suggestions made during this state are accepted and this acceptance may be lasting, so that hypnosis may be used for therapeutic purposes to alter attitudes and habits.
