Description
This state of awareness is represented by the third major after-life bardo and is characterized by the perception of the arising nirmanakaya, and the spiritual beings and Buddha-guides to the six worlds. This bardo is said to be the most important in the journey toward re-birth and is detailed in the Tibetan Book of the Dead. Fearing the terrors which the images of himself have become the person flees into new birth.
Context
This state is the final bardo before rebirth. It is experienced from the 20th to the 49th day preceding rebirth.
