Daring embracement (ICA)
Description
This is experienced as an amazing dependency on life situations that are incomplete, imperfect and in some way less than desired. It occurs when all life gives is misfortune and stupidity and when good intentions come to naught. What is given is embraced, as when a community celebrates the disaster of monsoon rains destroying a bridge that months of their labour has built.
Context
In the ICA New Religious Mode in the arena of acting out one's freedom (the life of prayer) the second formal aspect is affirmation of one's dependence or gratitude. At the first phenomenological level this occurs when one encounters the burden of one's own existence.
