This quality may manifest in remedying past faults; in intending to remedy future faults; in remedying faults now, in the present; in awareness, prior to action, of behaving such that faults do not arise; and in actually behaving so that these faults do not arise. It maintains effort and keeps the mind from the influence of afflictions and contaminations.
