Brahman (Hinduism, Yoga)

Description

The all-pervading power or consciousness itself which is the first principle, the eternal; and with which, according to [advaita vedanta]

, the Self or [Atman]

is identical. Mundane experience which appears to deny the fact that there is nothing but Brahman is clouded by ignorance which sees illusion as reality. True liberation is achieved when this illusion is seen for what it is and the soul is no longer tied to the cycle of existence but experiences itself as one with Brahman. This is ultimate enlightenment and absolute freedom. In this state arises the experience that "Sarvamkhalvidambrahma" - truly, everything is Brahman.
