Bon-practitioner state of awareness (Buddhism, Tibetan)
- Magical-shamanic state
Description
This state of awareness is characterized by shamanic powers, magic, communion with the dead and flight through the air. It is represented by the pre-Buddhist Tibetan faith of Bön, considered to be inferior only to the Dharma. Its former blood-rites lead to the hells, its reformed practices lead to high states of consciousness.
Context
In Tibetan Sakya Buddhism this is one of the states in the "Ascension Stages Game". In some sets it is numbered 23 on the board.
