Beyond success (ICA)

Description

This is experienced as detachment from a one's work; when one surrenders one's need for success and recognition. An example is the hero at the end of the book "The Ronin", when he walks away from his work of several years and says: "The hell with it".

Context

In the ICA New Religious Mode in the arena of knowing one's disengagement (the life of poverty) the second formal aspect is being reliant on the larger society, or being disengaged from one's work. At the first phenomenological level, this occurs when one is no longer content with one's customary habits, but sees in them a futility never before discerned.
