Being all the other (ICA)

Description

This is experienced when a person suddenly knows all of life; when he finds himself able to stand in another person's shoes. It may have been experienced by Gandhi when he saw that his whole life was about human injustice in all forms in the continent of India.

Context

In the ICA New Religious Mode in the arena of standing present to the mystery of being in life (life of contemplation) the first formal aspect is the experience of enigmatic not-me-ness or of externality. At the fourth phenomenological level this occurs when a person experiences adoration as the participant in all of life.
