Behaviourism
Description
The behaviourist approach maintains that any reference to a psychological or mental state is ultimately reducible to, or should in fact be replaced by, some expression about the disposition of an organism to behave in a particular way. This conflicts with the Cartesian view that inner states are not behavioural dispositions themselves and are capable of causing such dispositions.
