Avatar
Description
Belief in the physical incarnation of God in one man is central to the Christian religion but also to many others. The Hindu religion, for example, believes that in every age God is incarnate to draw men to himself. The Meher Baba, in this century, is considered by himself and his disciples to be the avatar of this age, the Kali Yuga (or iron age) which ends the cycle (Gold, Silver, Bronze, Iron) leading to ultimate dissolution; to be followed by regeneration in a new Golden Age. The role of the avatar is to pass his teaching to a few followers who in turn teach others the spiritual path of return to God.
