Avadhoot

Having shaken off attachments, including attachment to social convention, the avadhoot lives in a state of [divine madness]

, the state of mind being unlimited by conventional, linear notions. Because of the expanded perception there is apparent madness since the avadhoot has no obligations to the conditional self. Teaching from such an adept will seem wilful but, founded in wisdom and love, it is also skilful and intended to assist in the pupil's ultimate enlightenment.
