Attachment due to insight (Buddhism)

  • Desire due to insight

Description

Adorned with illumination, for example, the attachment which arises is so peaceful and subtle that it is not discerned as a defilement. The meditator, thinking that such a state has never arisen before, believes he has reached fruition, interrupts the course of insight. This is karmically unprofitable, because he mistakes the path.

Context

One of the ten imperfections of insight of Hinayana Buddhism.
