Appropriated passion (ICA)

Description

This is experienced as Being, as having affirmed all of one's existence and having appropriated that affirmation; when one steps outside all other expectations, including that of being the unique being one is. It may be compared to the main character in the film "All that Jazz" when, in the closing scene, he finally appropriates his death as his own dying.

Context

In the ICA New Religious Mode in the arena of standing present to the mystery of being in life (the life of contemplation) the fourth formal aspect is the experience of dreadful in-myself-ness or of depth. At the third phenomenological level a person experiences collegiality with the mystery of being what he is bound to.
