Anomalies in awareness of one's self

Experience of self underlies all other experiences and states, and all experiences and states are affected by it. Anomalies arise in respect of:< (1) Experiencing the self as distinct from the outside world.

(2) Experiencing the self as recognized in personal performance;< (3) Experiencing the unity of self;< (4) Experiencing the reality of one's self and the environment.

There may also be anomalies in the emphasis of different components of the self, causing a breakdown in automatization.
