Al-Wali (Sufism) [1]
Description
The believer is aware of Allah as the governor, managing the whole of creation. All is planned and predestined. Man has will, whether to enjoy and benefit from what is destined for him; or to revolt, so that what would have happened still happens but, resentful and out of harmony, one is unaware that it is happening. With eyes open one sees the creation of Allah manifesting His beautiful names. With eyes closed, one does not see them but they are still there. One has, and should use, the will to see that one is part of this divine order.
Context
A mode of mystical awareness in the Sufi tradition associated with the seventy-seventh of the ninety-nine names of Allah.
