Al-Wadud (Sufism)
Description
The believer is aware of Allah as loving those who do good, having compassion on them, giving them [fayd]
(the ability to receive and achieve truth). Only He is worthy of love. Piety and worship bring faith and devotion, allowing the believer to profit from [fayd]
. The soul is aware of itself, one is aware of one's soul and the senses follow the soul which is aware of the whole. When Allah is the only beloved of the soul the senses are in ecstasy with awareness of such perfection.
Context
A mode of mystical awareness in the Sufi tradition associated with the forty-seventh of the ninety-nine names of Allah.
