Al-Mudhill (Sufism)
- Al-Muzill
Description
The believer is aware of Allah as the one who humiliates. Attributing honour to one's self or having it so attributed by others distorts reality, so that one imagine's one is in a state other than one's own. Imagining one can fashion one's own destiny and seeking the approval of others leads to punishment and expulsion from God's presence.
Context
A mode of mystical awareness in the Sufi tradition associated with the twenty-fifth of the ninety-nine names of Allah.
