Admission of sin
- Mortal sin
Description
Sin can only be committed as a free act. In mortal sin there is rejection of the creator's will for his creation and of God's will to communicate himself to the creature in grace. Thus the sinner contradicts his own nature and the purpose of his freedom which is to love God. The sinner then hides the fact of sin even from himself - [repression]
. The admission of sin is then the first effect of the redemptive revelation and grace of God.
