Value Theory

Used only tentatively and experimentally in operations research to date, but felt to hold considerable promise for solving qualitative decision problems in the future. Basically, a process of assigning numerical significance to the worth of alternatives, thereby making explicit the consequences of certain kinds of ethical or value judgments.
