Tree structure

  • Arboreal organization

Description

A nonlinear, multilevel hierarchical structure in which each node may be related to a multiplicity of nodes at any level below it, but to only one node above it in the hierarchy. Graphically, this is similar to the genealogical family tree, or to the pyramidal organizational chart. The concept is used in the analysis of the logical structure of data in complex data bases.
