Morphology
Description
A study of the structure or form of some phenomenon, most usually animals and plants in which case, as a branch of biology, it is a study of the forms, relations, metamorphoses and phylogenetic development of organs (apart from their functions). In mineralogy it is the term given to the study of the crystalline form of minerals; in philology, it is the branch of grammar that examines the forms of words as well as the principles of word formation and inflection.
