Energy circuit language

Description

Represents the flow of energy in circuits rather than the flow of electrical current (as in the case of the electronic equivalent circuit language). Such circuits are represented on diagrams using special symbols. In this way, using symbols that are each mathematically defined for an energy transformation operation, networks of potential energy and heat flow may be drawn for food chains in seas, streams and forests, for example. Although mainly applicable to ecological studies, energy circuit language is also suitable for the description and analysis of social, biochemical, economic, and electrical systems.
