Restoring lakes

Ocean Arks International has designed a living machine that is ecologically engineered for lake restoration. The objective is to return the pond to its original unspoiled state. The sythetically-based design is dependent on wind power, food chains and living populations. Its task is to reduce nutrient loading, sediment depth, macrophyte growth and toxins in the pond, while increasing over-all biological diversity. It is designed to be used in remote areas, without an external power source.
