Redirecting donor aid

Claim:
Redirecting donor money for health from hospitals and specialist training to public health programme and essential clinical care -- especially for tuberculosis control, immunization and nutrient supplementation, AIDS prevention and reduction of tobacco consumption -- could make a significant contribution to policy reform and broad structural reform of health sectors in developing countries. Stronger donor coordination, especially at the level of individual developing country clients, would improved the positive impact on health, as has been shown in Bangladesh, Senegal and Zimbabwe.
