Making regional assessments of illegal traffic in dangerous products

This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities. Claim:
On the basis of data and information provided by governments, the UN regional commissions should, in each region and in cooperation with and relying upon expert support and advice from UNEP and other relevant bodies of the UN, monitor and on a continuous basis make regional assessments of, the illegal traffic in toxic and dangerous products and its environmental, economic and health implications, drawing upon the results and experience gained in the joint UNEP/ESCAP preliminary assessment of illegal traffic, expected to be completed in August 1992.
