Adopting forestry action plan

Synonyms:
Developing forest management plans
Implementation:
A Nepal- Australia community forestry project discovered that in order to engage public participation with forest management plans, there was need for information exchanges to harmonize traditional and contemporary forest management practices; local institution building to take on the formal responsibilities that the project required; and substantial negotiation and consensus building before the forest management plans could be adequately formulated. Illiteracy, gender biases, and power inequities also hampered widespread participation.
