Investigate novice driver accident rates in relation to exposure, attitudes and driving behaviour to show which strategies give the best ways of reducing casualty rates whilst experience is being acquired to become a mature driver.
Context:
Novice driver accident rates are high in most countries and casualties amongst young drivers make up a substantial proportion of each national casualty total. It is not clear whether the different training regimes in different countries lead to different accident rates of whether they lead to higher or lower risk in relation to particular accident types.
