Reducing the environmental impacts of airports
Context:
Although the air transport sector is growing steadily (at roughly 9% per year) and contributes to economic expansion in many other sectors (aeronautics, tourism etc.), the environmental impact is a cause for concern: any further deterioration in line with current trends would present a real threat to the quality of life of the general public, to the future of the sector and to the global environment, particularly in terms of CO2 emissions.
