Expanding knowledge resources on health implications of hazardous wastes

Context:
Improving knowledge regarding the effects of hazardous waste on human health and the environment.

This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities. Agenda 21 recommends that governments, international and regional organizations, and industry should facilitate and expand the dissemination of technical and scientific information dealing with various health aspects of hazardous waste, and promote its application.
