Mobilizing financial resources for health

Synonyms:
Creating funds for health services
Implementation:
There are a number of ways for the international community to mobilize more financial resources for health. Coordinated sector-wide pledging at consultative group meetings and donor roundtables has been used successfully in countries such as Tanzania and Zambia. Another approach is programme-specific pledging, as illustrated by dozens of national AIDS-control donor meetings chaired by WHO. Debt-for-development swaps have also been used.
