Coordinating nongovernmental security arrangements for hazardous missions

Description:
Interagency information exchange and collaboration at the field level is vital. There is a need for a frank discussion about strategies that different agencies adopt in the field, and a need to develop an interagency capacity for monitoring and analyzing the security environment, rather than each agency trying to do the same thing individually and often duplicating efforts and coming up with only a partial picture.
Context:
Coordinated operations are the activities which NGOs are able to carry out together, thereby creating a 'strength in numbers' strategy, such as: (1) Active membership in NGO coordinating bodies. (2) Active relationship and coordination with the United Nations. (3) Collaborative convoy operations. (4) Integrated communications. (5) Collaborative monitoring, community policing, etc.
