Synonyms:
Developing environmentally sustainable livestock regimes
Practising low intensity livestock rearing
Description:

Low intensity livestock systems are now mainly practised in the upland and mountain regions. They typically involve sheep, beef cattle and/or horses grazing rough grassland, moorland and heath. In some cases grazing is supplemented with hay grown in meadows or other forage crops. The seasonal movements of livestock between grazing areas is often a characteristic feature.
