An idealism that dreams of unity among people is often an unrealistic dream for making all people like one another, or a pseudo-globality attempting to create the future on the basis of what the past has been; the economic community, in its dominance, is uniting people on the promises of technology alone. But globality cannot be reduced to providing all people with material and physical comfort nor with a sense of democratic equality.
