Children are bought from mothers, especially in countries where there is great poverty, who, perhaps, hope their children will have a better future. Children are also kidnapped to be sold for the purposes of economic exploitation, criminal activities, begging, child pornography or child prostitution, medical experimentation and organ transplants and adoption.
Incidence
In Romania babies were sold for export to earn foreign currency. Foreigners who wanted to adopt children had to pay thousands of dollars different expenses and bribes.
