In Kazakhstan, the most popular animals for trophy hunting are the subspecies of Argali [Ovis ammon].

Incidence 

From 1990-1997, foreign hunters shot 75 Kazakhstan Argali and paid more than US$900 000 for their trophies (US$12,000 per Argali).

[Ovis ammon] is considered by the IUCN as "Vulnerable". CITES lists the species as "Appendix 2".
