Social inadequacy of men

Claim
Men are separated from the other halves of themselves and spend their lives looking for that other half. Most men are inadequate as fathers and husbands. Men often revert to the time-honoured system of of marrying women they do not quite love and loving a women they cannot marry, thus maintaining a state of idealism about love without ever having to face the reality of it. Men substitute authority for affection in their relationships with their children. They seek mother substitutes in wives and father substitutes at work.
