Militancy

Nature
An aggressive and activist attitude towards the furthering of a cause may be social, economic, political or ideological. Militancy includes industrial action, as well as social and ethnic action, non-cooperation, refusal to participate, and non-violent demonstration. Non-violent action may ultimately lead to violence either on the part of the militants or as repression and backlash. Militant action may cause social and economic breakdown.
