Loss of institutional credibility

Loss of credibility in institutions
Decreasing faith in the system
Lack of trust in institutions
Loss of belief in the efficacity of institutions on a national or international level, including economic, political, social, religious and ideological institutions, may produce apathy or violence and crime from a sense of alienation, and may result in social breakdown or social or national disintegration. It could also be the cause of materialistic attitudes and consumerism and a lack of social development.
We have seen an erosion of faith in the system, an unwillingness to trust politicians or anyone else, a refusal to accept the necessity of mutual sacrifices for the common good.
